Here is a superb and early New Ireland tatanua dance mask. It comes from the collection of Stanley Moriarty of Sydney and the Grebanier Collection of San Francisco. It is illustrated in the Geoff K. Gray Pty. Limited auction catalog of 1976, lot 143 and in the description lists the provenance prior to Moriarty as ex. MAG—an abbreviation of an Australian museum collection I have yet to decipher. The mask is late 19th century, is 16” (40.6 cm) in height. The price is available upon request. Questions?
