As with the previous figure I hope you recognize this ancient axe as Boiken and not Lower Sepik River. The Janus heads have domed foreheads bisected by a medial ridge, slanted coffee-bean eyes and a pronounced nose with pierced septum. The cane binding is very well done, there is some old lose to the handle and the surface is partially encrusted. The axe is actually one I originally field collected many years ago and has successfully toured the world before making it back into my hands. The piece is 19th century, 22 ¾” (57.7 cm) in length and priced at $3200. Questions?
