This is a large and ancient Massim ghena presentation spatula with an elegant crescent top perforated where once rows of red shell discs were attached—the true wealth being presented. Underneath the thick crescent is the classic back to back stylized bird head design that together with the raised “V” below form a clear face. There are remains of white pigments (possibly trade paint?). The patina is ancient. The spatula dates to the late 19th century, is 19 ¼” (48.9 cm) in height and sells for $4200. Questions?
