With their distinct elongated heads and notched beards I would place this neckrest at the mouth of the Ramu River or maybe even Manam Island. The opposed figures are large and stout with broad shoulders and hands firmly placed at the waist. The underside of the neckrest has a notched medial ridge--overall there is a aged brown patina. The neckrest is large at 23” (58.3 cm) in length, dates to the early 20th century and sells for $4000. Questions?
