These striking objects are a rare pair of Highlands New Guinea wooden armbands from Chimbu Province. They are used by archers to protect the forearm against the snap of the bow string. This pair was collected in the 1960s and are ex. Todd Barlin, ex. John Friede, date to the early/mid 20th century and are 3 1/2" (9 cm) in diameter. sold
