This is a small and fine cassowary bone dagger from the Sepik Coastal area of Papua New Guinea. It has an engaging face with round eyes an arrow-shaped nose and an open circular mouth. There is a nassa shell on either side of the knob and the dagger has an overall glossy, honey-colored patina. The piece is 6 1/8" (15.5 cm) in height, dates to the early 20th century. sold
