Oceanic Art - Miscellaneous Enlargement

This large and impressive mask comes from the coastal area at the mouth of the Ramu River in Papua New Guinea's Madang Province. The mask would have been lashed to a tall cane superstructure when danced. The piece has all fiber attachments and bite stick still intact. There are layers of pigments on this old and well used piece. The mask is 23" in height, comes with a custom display stand. sold
