This classic figurative suspension hook comes from the Coastal Ramu River area of New Guinea. It has two nicely carved figures-opposed male and female. The piece is carved from a dense hardwood with the figures having pierced septums and remains of red pigments. There are significant signs of wear and field use on the working ends of the hook. The piece is 19" height, comes mounted on a custom display stand. sold
