Oceanic Art - Enlargement

This pectoral of dog's teeth comes from the coastal area east of the mouth of the Ramu River in Madang Province, Papua New Guinea. This is a nice old example with the typical pennant form but with the addition of fins that clearly suggest a fish. The piece is 15 3/4" in height, comes mounted on a custom display stand sold.
