This whimsical little face is an unusually composed wood yam mask from either the Eastern Abelam area or their immediate neighbors the Bukie people—Margaret Mead’s Plains Arapesh. This piece has a pleasingly round ancestral face and two projections on each end with holes where it would have been lashed to the long yam. The yam mask is 8 ¾" in height. sold
