This ancient men's woven apron comes from the Western Highlands of Papua New Guinea. Such pieces were known as "pig-killing" aprons and consist of woven natural fiber, cuscus fur and pig's tails. This example is very finely woven, is ancient with a thick, stiff patina and faded natural pigments. The apron is 28" in height, comes with a custom display mount. sold
