This is an ancient, small and fine Abelam yam mask, "bapa mene." The oldest yam masks from the Abelam are much smaller than their later counterparts. This one is very tightly constructed, has nice aged pigments and an interesting open section above the face. The piece is 11 ½" in height, dates to the 1920s, has some minor fraying around the edges and sells for $1200. Questions?
