This old wood plate from the Boiken culture of Papua New Guinea's Prince Alexander Mountains has a wonderful crab design carved in relief on the backside. There are traces of red pigments and the plate has an overall dark patina-at times encrusted, at times glossy. The piece is pre-1920, is 13 ¼" in diameter and has a woven fiber strap attached. sold
