This is a classic long-nose ancestral mask from the Lower Sepik River of Papua New Guinea. It was collected in the early 1960s, has a native repair of one ear done with copper wire. The projection below the chin has at some point been broken off and re-glued. The mask has a nice aged patina and sure signs of extended use. The piece is 22 ¼" in height, dates to around 1920. sold
