This gope board probably comes from the Purari Delta area of the Papuan Gulf. It was collected by Mark Lissauer in the 1960s and then went into the Fortess Collection of Hawaii (#65). The board is deeply carved, has a raised nose and has a nice aged patina. The gope dates to the 1920/30s, has nice remains of red and white pigments, is 36 ¼" in height. sold
