This unusual piece is a kapkap shell ornament from the Murik Lakes at the mouth of the Sepik River. This is a classic piece with the inset portion cut from turtle shell and placed in an oval bailer shell. The turtle shell portion is carved as a stylized figure. The piece is 5" in height. sold
