This large and impressive painting on sago spathe comes from the façade of an Abelam towering ceremonial House Tambaran. The piece was collected by Dr. George Kennedy and sold to Jerome Simpson in the early 1960s. It was hence on long-term loan to the UCLA Museum of Cultural History from the mid 1960s to the mid 1980s. There is an old tag with both Kennedy's and Simpson's name on it. The piece is 63" in height, 25" wide. sold
