Oceanic Art - Miscellaneous Enlargement

This large piece of tapa bark cloth comes from Collingwood Bay, Oro Province, Papua New Guinea. Such broad pieces as this would have been presented to a new bride to either be worn as a skirt or used as a bed cover. The piece has a classic design, good old faded colors, a few small rents and comes mounted on a custom Ralph Koch foam backing. The piece is 65" in height. sold
