Oceanic Art - Miscellaneous Enlargement

This elegant hand drum comes from Papua New Guinea's Western Highlands around Mt. Hagen. The piece has an ancient dark and glossy patina and is unusual for having the fine incised design at the base and near the top. The lizard skin tympanum is missing. The drum is 31 ½" in height and sells for $1600. Questions?
