This small and sweet stone churinga comes from the Northern Territory of Australia in the Tanami Desert, Northwest of Alice Springs. The design is deeply carved and consists of classic concentric circles connected by a series of parallel arches. The reverse has a distinctly different but related design—both sides have nice remains of red ochre. The churinga is 6 5/8" in length, is pre-1920. sold
