This beautiful Australian Aboriginal shield is from the Western Desert region. It has the classic vertical grooving of the more common wunda shields but the design is more complex with four horizontal bands and three "x" motifs in red ochre. The reverse is also finely carved with a handle that shows good age and use. The piece is pre-1940, is 25 ¼" in height. sold
