This elegant piece is a "bagi" or kula trading necklace from the Massim culture of southeast New Guinea. The necklace is composed of rows of the valuable red shell discs with a white ovula shell at the top and a white conus shell ring at the bottom. Overall the necklace is 14" in height as mounted. sold
