This striking object is a bamboo smoking pipe from New Guinea. It was suggested by Geoff Carey that the piece comes from New Britain but I tend to think it originates in the area between the Southern Highlands and the Western Province. Either way, it is an old and beautifully composed object with good age and field use. The pipe is 25 ½" in length. sold
