This is a rare bone tube used by the Bukie culture, just to the east of the Abelam, for magical purposes. I have had a few of these bone tubes in the past and all were used by old men for magic where the ritual material was placed inside the bone. This example has a finely executed ancestral design with numerous eye motifs and two sharp opposed hook projections on the reverse. The piece is at least 100 years old, is 10" in height. sold
