These are three shell kapkap ornaments from the Papuan Gulf area of southern New Guinea. They consist of round sections of cut bailer shell inset with finely cut out sections of turtle shell. These three are all older examples from the early 20th century. The one on the right actually has a tiny kapkap strung behind it. The three illustrated range in size from 3 ¼" to 4 1/8" in diameter. sold
