These three pieces are excellent, old sago washing pegs from the Southern Abelam culture. I have had these three in my private collection for years because of their age and quality. Such pieces were used similar to a clothes pin to hold a piece of coconut fiber that acted as a sieve when the pulp from the interior of a sago tree was washed with water to draw out the starch. These three are early 20th century or before, range in size from 15 ½” to 22 ½” in height, are mounted individually but sold as a group for $2500. Questions?
