This ancient pre-contact piece is a fragment from a larger figure found in the caves inland near the headwaters of the Karawari River. The fragment has obviously seen better days and has extensive erosion but it still retains the powerful archaic form of classic Karawari cave sculpture. The fragment is 20" in height, has some remains of traditional pigments.sold
