This is a pre-contact, stone-carved hand drum from the Torricelli Mountains of Papua New Guinea’s West Sepik Province. It has the dimpled surface from the pre-contact stone adze marks. The drum was published in my latest catalog "The Art of West Sepik" on pages 14/15, dates to the 19th century, is 35" in height and sells for $2000. Questions?
