This is a rare and old hand drum from the Moropote area right at the border of the East and West Sepik Provinces where the headwaters of the Wogamush and Leonard Schultze Rivers meet. The drum has a nice glossy patina on the body and a well carved distal end. The piece is 41" in height, dates to the early 20^th century and sells for $1500.
