This is beautiful dance wand from Malaita Island, Solomon Islands. It was collected by Ron Perry in February 1974 from a ceremonial house at Mangonia Point on the coast of northeast Malaita. Ron believes the piece was used in a dance held to commemorate the opening of the house prior to his visit. The wand shows good age and nice remains of pigments. It is 14 ¾" in height. sold
