This engaging little guy is a Southern Abelam "karaut" boar’s tusk pectoral collected by Ron Perry in Nala 1 Village in May 1972 (Perry’s inventory number A 584). This is an unusual one with button eyes and a bit of insect cocoon material incorporated in the body below the nose. The piece has great presence and substantial age as evidenced by the nice brown patina on the reverse. The karaut is 10" in height, dates to around 1930. sold
