This beautiful figure comes from the Southern Abelam village called Kamge. The piece was collected by Ron Perry in 1974. The piece has a beautiful form, striking pigmentation and a wonderful hornbill bird atop its head. Such small figures are called "wapinyam" and represent "long yam children." This is a good early example, circa 1940/50s, is 29 ½" in height. sold
