This is an exceptionally fine "lonkalonka" pearl shell cache-sex from the Kimberly area of Western Australia. This one has a very rare and beautiful concentric square motif that is often seen on the area's ceremonial wood churingas but rarely, if ever, seen on lonkalonka. There is a small remnant of human hair rope at the back. The piece is 6 ¾" in height, is pre-1920 and sells for $2300. Questions?
