This unusual object is a carved bone — I assume cassowary bird — from the Abelam people of New Guinea's Prince Alexander Mountains. I have collected a couple similar objects over the years and these mostly came from the area near Yamil at the border with the Bukie people. They were invariably magically powerful objects. This one is 7 ¾" in height and sells for $850. Questions?
