This is a very old and rare armband woven from orchid fiber from the remote Rawlinson Mountain Range in the Huon Peninsula of Papua New Guinea’s Morobe Province. The tightness of the weaving does not come through well in these photographs. The piece dates to the 1920s, is 11" in height. sold
