This is a very unusual women’s tapa skirt from Collingwood Bay, Oro Province, Papua New Guinea. While I have photographed this piece vertically, the left hand side would have been worn towards the ground by a woman who wrapped this piece around her waist. This example has a very atypical design, is soft from age, is 59" by 30" in size and sells for $1500. Questions?
