This small female figure comes from Kis Village, which is inland from Kaup Lagoon—which itself is west of the mouth of the Sepik River. Such small figures were kept by most adult men and had various magical uses from fishing to love. This figure probably dates to the 1940s and has the proper grass skirt attire. The piece is 7 ½" in height. sold
