This is a wonderful pre-contact, stone-carved hand drum from the Purari Delta area of the Papuan Gulf. It has the classic open fish mouth shape and two deeply carved ancestral faces in-filled with white lime. The patina is aged and glossy in parts. The drum is pre-1910, 28" in height. sold
