This colorful female figure is a pre-contact, stone-carved example of Abelam artwork. While at first glance this piece might seem a fragment from a larger lintel but I think the piece is one of the smaller carvings that would have, in the pre-1940 days, adorned the façade of an Abelam ceremonial house.
