Wood food bowls from the Papuan Gulf are very rare and this is a fine example. The ancestral face is classic and deeply carved. The surface of the wood has a nice aged patina from decades of field use. The piece is 28 ½" long, probably dates to the 1930s, comes mounted on a custom display stand. sold
