This mask is a striking and early example of an Eastern Highlands gourd mask. Such masks were said to represent the malicious spirits that cause leprosy. This example is a very old one but has bold, vibrant colors, a wax nose and a nice coiffure of human hair. The mask is 12" in height, comes with a custom display stand. sold
