This is an ancient Papuan Gulf marupai charm carved from an immature coconut shell. There is a nicely composed ancestral face in-filled with white lime. The piece has a deep black glossy patina from generations of use. There is a horizontal crack that goes from the open mouth toward the back. The piece is 4 ¾" in length. sold
