Previously I could have sworn these round pectorals ringed with white ovula shells come from the mountains of Morobe Province. Yet, this piece was attributed to the Torricelli Mountains in the West Sepik Province. And on my most recent field trip to these mountains the local people confirmed that they indeed have such circular pectorals. They call them "walibank" and are supposedly not uncommon-not that I was able to find one. Anyway, this is an excellent example with tight weave and nice remains of color. The piece is 8" in diameter. sold
