This boar's tusk necklace comes from Sudest Island in the Massim region. Such necklaces are called "bagi" and can be used for bride price and purchasing the large sea-going canoes. It consists of a fully round boar's tusk attached to a woven fiber band with numerous spondylous shell discs, white ovula shell and two sections of golden-lip kina shell. The necklace has good age and aesthetics, is 15" in height as mounted. sold
