The wood food bowls from the area east of Lumi in the Torricelli Mountains, West Sepik Province, Papua New Guinea have the unique ability to be both archaic and refined. This example is pre-contact and stone-carved with a narrow base and a wonderfully organic, ovoid shaped bowl. The patina is thick, black and ancient. The bowl is 10" across at the top, is pre-1920 and sells for $850. sold
