This is an old and very fine Western Desert Australian aboriginal wood bullroarer. The design is the traditional zigzag motif overlaid with vertical and horizontal raised lines. The patina is a dark-chocolate brown with a nice aged glossy surface. The bullroar has remains of a human hair rope, is 11 3/4" in height, dates to the late 19th/early 20th century. hold
