This is a nice early, classic Abelam female figure with pleasing remains of pigments. Abelam ancestral spirits are not only responsible for the recreation of human society but also the animals in the bush and this figure beautifully illustrates that fact with a Cuscus marsupial surmounting the head, a small human male figure under the feet and two birds below that.
